What Are Group Call and All Call Features?

Group call pages one team; all call pages everyone on the system at once — both are one-button broadcasts.

On any decent radio system, you don’t have to call people one at a time. That’s what group call is for. You select a group — say, maintenance or floor 3 — and when you talk, every radio assigned to that group hears you. It’s the backbone of radio group communication in warehouses, hotels, and security teams. One button, whole team notified, nobody’s dialing anything.

All call is the bigger hammer. It hits every radio on the system, in every group. Perfect for an evacuation or a last-minute meeting. Obviously you don’t want to spam it — all call is loud by design, and managers hate hearing it used for trivia. But when you need everyone at once, nothing else works.

Now the honest catch. Group call and all call only work on radios that are part of the same system — same brand, same programming, compatible protocol. You can’t group-call across random brands on a single frequency. The group settings usually need to be programmed in, sometimes by a dealer or with a programming cable. Some models come pre-programmed, others need setup. Your mileage may vary, so ask when you buy.
