If you have more than a couple of radios, a multi unit charger pays for itself in morning hassle.
The math is simple. One radio, single charger, done. Two radios, and you’re either staggering charging times or buying a second single bay. Once you hit three or more radios that all need charging every day, a multi unit charger — often called a gang charger — stops being a luxury and becomes the obvious answer. Everyone drops their radio in a bay at the end of the shift, and in the morning every unit is ready. No swapping, no forgetting, no ‘whose radio is in the charger’ arguments.
Now the honest part. Gang chargers cost more, and they’re not always faster — most charge at the same rate per bay as a single charger, sometimes slower if the power supply is shared. If you’re in a rush, individual chargers can be quicker on some models. Also check the fit: multi-unit bays are often shaped for specific battery models, and a bay for one radio might not accept another model. Match your fleet to the charger.
